IvSU students are the winners in the contest of presentations in English

On April, 15 the IX International contest of presentation in English “Leaders of a New World: the Skills, Vision, and Mindset of Change” took place in Samara state technical university. It was organized by the Department of pedagogics, intercultural communication and Russian as the foreign language together with the Texas A&M University Texarkana University (the USA). Students were offered to present their scientific project in the frames of the contest theme.

119 applications were sent to take part in the contest by the participants from Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Voronezh, Yaroslavl, Rostov-on-Don, Nizhny Novgorod, Saransk, Orel, Ivanovo, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Irkutsk, Chelyabinsk, Ekaterinburg, Kazan, Korolev, Ussuriysk, Ul’yanovsk, Samara, Tol’yatti, Novokuibyshevsk and Zhigulevsk. Students from the USA, Germany, India and Indonesia also applied for participations. Everyone underwent the proper preselection.

Ivanovo State University competed in five sections. In four of them our students took top places.

In nomination “Zoom presentation” in “Leadership: Why Emotions Matter” section the second place was won by the first-year students of International Relations program (Kalikina Alina, Podvornaya Polina, Tagaeva Anastasia; the supervisor – Mayakina Marina); in “Business and Professional Skills of a Successful Leader” the third place was won by the first-year students of International Relations program (Varzin Aleksandr, Vlasov Sergey, Vagacheova Arina, the supervisor – Vansyatskaya Elena); and finally the first place in “Management, Sustainability and Technologies” section was won by the third-year student of International Relations program Zakharova Daria (the supervisor – Mayakina Marina).

In nomination “Youtube video” in “Leaders of a New World” section the winners are the first-year students of Applied Informatics Master program (Rukodeltsev Iliya, Sidorov Mikhail, Tsarevskii Dmitriy; the supervisor – Mayakina Marina). You can watch their video here:

Projects were judged according to four criteria: informativeness (presence of new, interesting and useful information complying with the contest theme); structuredness (logic in presentation parts, coherence and clarity of presentation); declamatory skills and interaction with the audience; presentation style (visualization and creativity).

The contest allowed the students bringing out their creative abilities, improving skills of public performance. Our congratulations to the winners!
