On May 18–19, IvSU was the venue for the festival-forum “Balkan Bridge. Ivanovo-2023".
On the first day, students and guests of the event were able to attend an art master class from the Serbian artist Vesna Simiс, as well as a Serbian language lesson for students of the Russian Philology department from Natalia Yuryevna Starikovskaya (Serbian philologist, teacher of the Serbian language).
The second day was full of events.
It began with a round table “Current issues of Russian-Balkan cooperation: experience and prospects” at which presenters from Russia and Serbia shared their experience in implementing projects aimed at strengthening Russian-Serbian cultural relations.
As part of the work of the IvSU Balkan Club, a conversation took place with Vesna Simic, during which students learned more about Serbian culture and creativity.
Students and teachers asked the guest many questions, and she did not deprive anyone of her attention. Vesna not only introduced her work to everyone present at the meeting, but also presented the folk song ensemble “Jute Kruske” (“Yellow Pears”), who performed beautiful, cheerful and lyrical songs of Serbian folklore. The girls gave very interesting commentary on their songs. And the artists even offered to teach their listeners one of them.
The evening ended with a joint viewing of the film “Comics in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia” and an acoustic concert by Renata Dzekanovic.
Students and teachers did not remain indifferent and showed sincere interest in Balkan culture.
