The matter is important and necessary

On September 21, “Night at the University” was held at the “Boiling Point – IvSU” and other locations of the 1st academic building, a social project for refugees from the DPR, LPR and regions of Ukraine. The event included informational tours of IvSU, master classes were organized for children, and a round table “Protection of the rights of refugees: social guarantees and protection of the right to education” was organized for adults. The meeting was moderated by Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Social Development Nikita Dmitrievich Sorokin, who also told the audience about our city, Ivanovo universities and the history of IvSU.

The “Night at the University” action was invented by a 2nd year student Anastasia Lenets, a participant in the “Your Move” contest (NGO “Russia – a Land of Opportunities”), who herself spoke to our guests. And then a large and varied program awaited them. After a general excursion to the Literary and Local Lore Museum "Writers of the Ivanovo Territory", the children went to the assembly hall, where our student activists held entertaining master classes with them: 1) "Creating a unique design for your fabric by decorating a sheet of paper with "avant-garde""; 2) "Creating a rag doll and studying the specifics of Ivanovo fabric"; 3) "Study of the Palekh lacquer miniature"; 4) "Acquaintance with the cities of the Ivanovo region, their cultural and history through work with the map"; 5) "Dance break". And adults at this time talked in the "Boiling Point" on topics relevant to them with representatives of various structures and services: Fedoseyeva O.V., head of the regional executive committee of the ONF in the Ivanovo region; Kolesnikova I.R., specialist of the regional branch of the Pension Fund; Shnyrova OA, lawyer of the service of the Commissioner for Children's Rights of the Ivanovo Region; Filkina A.N., consultant-lawyer of the service of the regional Commissioner for Human Rights; Kulikova Ya.A., Head of the Legal Clinic of IvSU.

Upstairs it was interesting and fun, downstairs they were jointly looking for ways to solve the many problems faced by people who were forced to leave their homes. It seems that this is how it should be: helping those in trouble is our common cause.
