All about how to find yourself in digital media

All about how to find yourself in digital media

On June 8, IvSU hosted the Smart Route: Digital Media Today and Tomorrow forum (a project of the Russian society "Knowledge") at several venues, dedicated to the need for creative youth to adapt to the rapidly changing trends of the modern media universe and the creative opportunities that open up in connection with this in the field of "new media".

The opening took place at 11:00 in the assembly hall of the 1st academic building. After the presentation of the project itself and, in general, the activities of the Knowledge Society, in a new format aimed at covering the widest possible audience with comprehensive educational activities, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Ivanovo Region Yevgeny Leonidovich Nesterov, First Vice-Rector of Ivanovo State University Olga Vladimirovna Kuzmina, Chairman Ivanovo branch of the Russian society "Knowledge" Sergei Sergeevich Mishurov, who noted both the significance of the activities of the society "Knowledge" and the new formats of its work.

The forum traditionally began with a free exchange of opinions about what the audience is interested in now, what skills and type of behavior are in demand in social networks, what changes are taking place in the industry, where users leave blocked social networks, etc. 5 lecturers: business blogger Olesya Rozhkova, digital marketer Ekaterina Pavlova, personal brand expert and mentor Sophie Boyko, blogger and entrepreneur Maxim Myakov and head of the New Media Workshop project community Evgeniy Kleshch – by their personal activity included the audience in the current “cross-talk” discussion. There were questions about how to “get on the creative team”, what the future holds for podcasts dedicated to films, games, etc., what platforms should be targeted, what steps are needed to implement their ideas, how to be “always relevant”, etc. Along the way, lecturers-bloggers "researched" the audience for its own behavior in social networks, readiness for content production, expectations, ideas about how to promote. The result was a very rich and productive conversation.

Then the forum continued in lecture formats at different venues: Olesya Rozhkova told how to become a trendsetter - those who set fashion, how trends are formed and affect our lives, how to develop strategic thinking, and also revealed the secrets of content monetization; Ekaterina Pavlova taught how to build a career in the media sphere and explained the basics of making money in social networks; Sophie Boyko went with the participants to the financial behind the scenes of blogging and told how to build a personal brand in a changing environment, analyzed real cases of interactive marketing; Maxim Myakov spoke about modern and future formats of advertising in social media; Evgeny Kleshch informed the audience about how to make money on podcasts and measure their success. The forum program ended with an exciting interactive game (students come up with a startup project in new media and try to sell it to the audience).
