“Escalator of Meanings” for Graduates

“Escalator of Meanings” for Graduates

On March 17 at 13:00 in the assembly hall of the 1st building of the IvSU, an informational meeting of the university administration with 4th year students of all departments of preparation for admission to the master's program – “Escalator of Meanings” began.

The hall was full. Welcoming the audience, the rector of IvSU A.A. Malygin briefly outlined the specifics of the transitional stage between the levels of education, the significance and complexity of the right choice (after all, the areas of undergraduate and graduate education do not have to be similar, cases of what is called “complete reorientation” are not uncommon), the importance of awareness of the available opportunities. The rector also touched upon the issues of preparing a portfolio and a motivation letter and stressed that a master's program is a new level of education and qualification for each student, which increases the expected professional value of a future employee for most employers in the labor market.

Responsible Secretary of the Admissions Committee S.G. Ezerskaya thoroughly and clearly explained to the audience what are the features of submitting documents, what specific steps need to be taken for admission, and where exactly on the website of the university and the portal “Applicant's Guide” all the necessary information is placed on each issue that arises at each stage.

Vice-Rector for Social Development and International Affairs N.D. Sorokin told the students what are the advantages of continuing their education in the magistracy: this is the opportunity to participate in research activities at a more serious level, and the extension of the wonderful years of student life, and the respite from the army for young people, and the chance to successfully combine work and study – and much more.

Then the students dispersed to the classrooms in order to communicate more specifically with the directors of their institutes and heads of educational programs: HSI students remained in the assembly hall, IMITSS students gathered in the reading room, lawyers settled in the conference room, and future ISES graduates – in the “Boiling Point – IvSU”.
