Student years are just the time to participate in big projects!

On May 26, 2021 at 11: 30-12: 30 in the assembly hall of the 1st IvSU study building the university administration held the meeting with students which was dedicated to the prospects of their participation in modern forums, competitions and projects at various levels.

Vice-rector for social development and international relations Nikita Sorokin noted that there are a lot of such opportunities today, but not everyone knows about them. The specially created Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) gathers, promotes and coordinates the largest and most important of the forums and projects. It has its own website, and Dr. Sorokin urged the audience to register there, since it contains all significant youth events in the country, and one can choose something that suits one’s interests and aspirations. “Student years are the best years of life, and there are several reasons why it is important for you to participate in this activity,” – underlined Nikita Sorokin, – “First of all, this is a great opportunity to travel around the country, expand your horizons and network (you get to know young and enthusiastic people, and these relations will help you to solve a lot of questions, since many issues are better solved at the personal level). Secondly, many of these forums offer significant prize money and mentoring, which is very useful for promoting your ideas and solutions".

Dr. Sorokin also spoke on the largest forums. One of them is the Territory of Meanings, which is taking place in Moscow region (July – early September, 2021). The number of participants is up to 6000. The Forum will take place in several specialized sessions. 1st session – "Civil Society". It is great for those who are engaged in volunteer activities. 2nd session – "Politics and Network Leaders"; 3rd session – “Challenges of education”; 4th session – "Serving the Fatherland" (representatives of diplomatic and military departments will arrive, 5th session – "Digital Economy".

The second most important all-Russian forum (registration for it is open now) “Tavrida” is intended for creative people. Nikita Sorokin gave a very clear example: in 2016, a graduate of the IvSU Department of Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations Evgeny Nipot won a grant at Tavrida. His project "The Tamer of Rhymes" was the best and was implemented on the Bars TV channel. Evgeny Nipot was invited to work as a correspondent for the federal channels "Russia 1" and "Russia 24", and now we often see his bright and extraordinary reports from various, sometimes extreme, places of our planet.

Dr. Sorokin also spoke in detail about many other forums, projects and contests that give students excellent chances to shape their future success (for example, the projects of ANO “Russia is a country of opportunities”: “I am a professional”, “Professional internships 2.0”, “Drive!”, "Russian student spring"). After him vice-rector for research and project activities Inna Smirnova took the floor. She noted that many of the projects presented at the meeting are on the lists of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and are taken into account when applying for master's and postgraduate studies.

Then Dr. Smirnova gave the audience detailed information about the current "Design and educational program Archipelago 2121".
