The regional contest “German for profession and career” took place in IvSU on April, 16. It was supported by German cultural center named by Goethe and Regional education department. School, college and IvSU students participated in the contest. It was organized as a fair of study firms in the frames of the project which has been fulfilled in IvSU since 2018.
The event was opened by the Director of Institute for Humanities Dr. Svetlana Manik. She underlined that today we do understand how important such events are for communication and maintenance of motivation in foreign language studies.
IvSU honorary lecturer Rüdiger Schwulst joined the contest and sent his video message from Germany. He told what professions are relevant in Germany and what ones are especially important in pandemic conditions. Mr. Schwulst wished a lot of success to participants of the events and expressed his hope to meet them in autumn. Interpretation of his speech from German to Russian was made by third-year students of Philology program (Foreign Philology).
The first contest was unusual as it was conducted on the base of video sent by IvSU graduates. German language played an important role in development of their careers.
