Talent, energy and resources: A. Malygin on the components of modern quality education

Talent, energy and resources: A. Malygin on the components of modern quality education

Rector of IvSU A. Malygin in the studio of the program "Interview" of the TV channel "Russia 24 Ivanovo" spoke about new approaches in higher education. Host Irina Haustova asked the guest a number of topical, problematic questions: how realistic is it to implement individual educational routes in IvSU? How is the digitalization trend implemented at the university? What should a modern university be like? What will be the features of the upcoming admission campaign? – and others.

Alexey Malygin noted that the individual approach in higher education has always been present, and individualization, which is now being discussed in connection with individual educational trajectories, is associated with digitalization. It is an important task to adjust flexibly to the abilities of each student and their individual experience. "Behind this is an extensive mathematical apparatus, software capabilities. This is definitely the future, – the rector stressed, – we are following the path of a reasonable combination of lectures, which can be conducted in online format, with practical, seminar classes – live communication between teachers and students".

When asked what a modern university should be like, the head of the IvSU said that the teaching methods have certainly been transformed. The youth environment in which teachers find themselves makes them react vividly to their needs. The students themselves bring a lot of interactive methods to the educational process. New practices (case studies, interdisciplinarity, etc.) are organically integrated into the educational process of the classical university, which implements a large range of educational programs – from mathematics to physical education.

A. Malygin named talent, energy and resources as the main components of modern high-quality education. "Without this, there will be no progress, and without this, it is impossible to meet the challenges of the time", – the rector said.
