The Rector of IvSU was elected and the University Development Program for 2021–2025 was adopted

On December 18, 2020, in the assembly hall of the 1st academic building, a conference of employees and students of IvSU was held. It was dedicated to two main issues:

1. Elections of the Rector of Ivanovo State University.
2. The adoption of University Development Program for 2021–2025.

Candidates for the post of Rector of IvSU – First Vice-Rector, Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Professor Olga Kuzmina and Acting Rector of IvSU, Head of the Department of Continuing Psychological and Pedagogical Education, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Alexey Malygin – presented their programs.

Other speakers noted that both candidates had done a great job, emphasizing their high professionalism, positive changes in the financial condition and positioning of the university, and the growth of its authority. Rector of IvSU in 2000–2019, Adviser to the Rector's Office, Doctor of Economics, and Professor Vladimir Egorov described A. Malygin as a person who is not afraid and likes learning and even in the most difficult circumstances he is aimed at self-development and promotion. Expressing support for the candidacy of A. Malygin, V. Egorov at the same time highly appreciated the contribution of O. Kuzmina. According to him, she deserves the highest professional and human evaluation, especially when you consider how difficult the first decades of the 21st century were for higher education.

After a break and counting of votes, it was announced that Alexey Malygin had been elected to the post of Rector of Ivanovo State University.

The second part of the conference was devoted to the University Development Program for 2021–2025. The report on the work on it was made by the Vice-Rector for Research and Project Activities, Candidate of Social Sciences, Chairman of the Scientific and Technical Council Inna Smirnova. The program was approved unanimously, and the conference concluded its work.
