International Students' Day in Ivanovo

On November 20, the Ivanovo State Philharmonic hosted a festive concert dedicated to International Students' Day. Traditionally, foreign students from Ivanovo universities took part in it - after all, more than 1,600 students from 50 countries of the near and far abroad study in Ivanovo, including Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Serbia, Congo, China, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and many others. No attempts to "isolate Russia" can undermine the prestige of our higher education!

Students from a variety of countries greeted guests in their native languages ​​and performed creative numbers: they recited poems about Russia, sang songs in Russian and native languages, and also demonstrated national dances. The most successful representatives of the student community were awarded letters of gratitude for their active participation in student life and strengthening interethnic relations. Teachers and staff of Ivanovo universities working with foreign students have received recognition for their contribution to training personnel for foreign countries. We congratulate the Vice-Rector of Ivanovo State University Nikita Sorokin and the International Projects coordinator of Ivanovo State University Anastasia Anisimova on their well-deserved awards!

In addition, the event featured the grand opening of the International Friendship Club. “Such clubs are opening today in all regions of the country as a continuation of the Cultural Patronage program, which was launched in Sochi at the 2024 World Youth Festival. During the festival, each foreign delegation was assigned Russian regions as curators, for example, Cuba became the sponsored country of the Ivanovo Region. Now we will continue to interact within the framework of the Friendship Club,” the Department of Internal Policy of the Ivanovo Region said. Five students from RUDN University, representatives of Cuba, took part in the opening of the club. Foreign students in Ivanovo not only receive fundamental knowledge, but also get acquainted with Russian culture, study our language and history. Returning to their homeland, they become ambassadors of our culture abroad, strengthen friendly ties between peoples, promote ideas of peace, cooperation, and harmony. And the International Friendship Club will become a permanent platform for the exchange of ideas, culture, and experience between young people from different countries!
