“That pain is alive in our hearts”: an action dedicated to the Day of Memory and Sorrow

On June 22, at 10 am, an interuniversity action dedicated to the Day of Memory and Sorrow was held near the Monument to the Heroes of the Front and Rear. It was attended by students of 6 Ivanovo universities that are part of the scientific and educational consortium "Ivanovo". They gathered to honor the memory of the soldiers who fell in the fight against fascism, and civilians whose lives were taken by that terrible time.

The Great Patriotic War began 81 years ago, but, as the poet said, “that pain is alive in our hearts” – and nothing will make us forget about the great feat and great sacrifices in the name of Victory.

The rector of IvSU A.A. Malygin. He stressed that Russia has never bowed before the invaders, no matter what trials have fallen to its lot, and today, when our Fatherland is once again forced to defend itself against an enemy that has surrounded it and is not shy about means, our main weapon, as before, is the unity of the whole people and the strength of its spirit. Students of various universities read poems by famous poets dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. The action ended with a minute of silence in memory of all those who died in this difficult time for the country.
