On October 1, the Russian-German forum of organizers of sports youth exchanges ended in Astrakhan. The Forum became the first face-to-face bilateral project in the field of mass sports in two years. Ivanovo State University was represented by the coordinator of IvSU international projects Yulia Travina.
The forum was attended by more than 50 representatives of partner sports organizations from Russia and Germany, working with youth and interested in the development of youth exchanges in the field of mass sports. Forum events were held in Astrakhan and Elista.
As part of the forum program in Astrakhan, the participants got acquainted with the possibilities of Russian-German youth cooperation, the system of sports work with youth in Russia and Germany, were trained at seminars and master classes, and also visited Turbo Sports Academy and the Patriot martial arts club.
In Elista, the participants met with the Head of the Republic of Kalmykia Batu Khasikov, visited the sports departments of the Regional Sports Training Center and the Oirat-Arena Sports Palace, tried themselves in the national sports: archery, horse riding and others.
On the way back from Elista to Astrakhan, the Forum participants visited the Memorial Complex in Khulkhuta, dedicated to the soldiers of the 28th Army, solemnly opened the historical park of military burials and visited a significant place for the events of World War II - the well of “life” in Khulkhuta.
The key point of the program was work in partner groups, as a result of which 19 sports youth exchange projects were developed, supposed to be implemented in 2022. Ivanovo State University and the partner organization "Sports Union of the City of Heidenheim 1846" within the framework of the ongoing sambo project will hold a preliminary meeting of specialists in Germany in order to exchange coaching experience and prepare for student sports exchange.
